NGC 4755 (also Jewel Box, Kappa Crucis Cluster, Collinder 264, Melotte 114 and Caldwell 94) is a magnitude +4.2 open star cluster located 6,440 light years away in the constellation Crux.
At 7.1 million years, it one of the youngest star clusters. The cluster contains about 100 stars. The central region contains bright red giants, surrounded with many contrasting blue stars.  The name Jewel Box is attributed to this cluster by John Herschel in the 1830s because of the contrasting coloured stars.

The cluster was discovered by French astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille using a 1.27 cm (0.5 inch), 8x magnification, refractor at the Cape of Good Hope in 1751.
