A mysterious "boom" that resounded across Vancouver early Friday may have been an extraterrestrial wakeup call, theorizes a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Vancouver.
"I can't think of any other explanation, other than a fairly substantial gravel quarry explosion" - Jeff Wynn, research geophysicist with the Cascades Volcano Observatory.
