Arizona is known for its sunshine, but its starry skies are attracting attention too. Observatories, astronomy clubs and even resorts are offering opportunities for stargazing around the state, especially in areas with little light pollution. Arizona's best-known observatories include Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, which welcomes visitors year-round for tours and telescope viewing, and Kitt Peak National Observatory, located on lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation in the Sonoran Desert southwest of Tucson. Kitt Peak also offers tours.
