A possible magnitude 16.8 supernova was discovered on the 28th April, 2009, in the face-on Spiral galaxy NGC3905 in the constellation Crater. The supernova is located 12 West and 3 North from the centre of the galaxy. The distance is 85.5 mpc.

A supernova, 2001E, was discovered in the galaxy in 2001.
