Spring Equinox at Mnajdra Temples

Heritage Malta is once again organising a guided tour of the Mnajdra on Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st to mark the spring equinox.
Sunrise on the first day of each season underlines the relationship between the temples and celestial bodies. Although it is not known for certain whether these orientations were intentional, they are so systematic that this is very probable.

aar Qim is a megalithic temple complex found on the Mediterranean island of Malta, dating from the gantija phase (3600-3200 BCE). The Megalithic Temples of Malta are amongst the most ancient religious sites on Earth, described by the World Heritage Sites committee as "unique architectural masterpieces."
