A magnitude 14.7 supernova, 2009gb, was discovered by The CHilean Automatic Supernova sEarch (CHASE) on the 9th June, 2009, in the galaxy ESO 447-37 in the constellation Centaurus.
The supernova is roughly located 11" West and 20" South from the center of the galaxy.
As yet the type is unknown.
A type-Ia supernova, 2009as, had been discovered in the same galaxy on the 8th March, 2009.

z = 0.022179
