A magnitude 16.6 Type Ia supernova, 2009gs, was discovered on the 15th June, 2009, by the Catalina Sky Survey, in an anonymous galaxy in the constellation Aquarius.
The supernova is located 1.1" east and 0.4" north from the center of the galaxy.

Position (2000): RA. = 21h18m49s.42, Dec = -05°57'10".8
