Daejeon World Space Congress Lifts Off
Thousands of experts and enthusiasts gathered for the world's largest space exhibition, which began in Daejeon, Monday.
Some 3,000 delegates from more than 70 countries are expected to attend the five-day International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which will hear from the heads of the world's major space agencies and also academics and aerospace industry officials on the future of space flight technology and research.

IAC 2009 opens in South Korea: Space for Sustainable Peace and Progress
The 60th International Astronautical Congress was officially opened today in Daejeon, South Korea. The Daejeon Convention Centre, under the aegis of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute and the International Astronautical Federation, is this week welcoming some 3000 space experts from more than 70 countries.

S. Korea to host largest International Astronautical Congress next week
South Korea is ready to host the largest ever gathering of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) next week that aims to promote peaceful use of space, local organizers for the event said Wednesday.
The five-day gathering that kicks off Monday in Daejeon 164km south of Seoul is expected to attract a record 3,000 scientists, businessmen and government policymakers from around the world, the science ministry and Korea Aerospace Research Institute said.
Organisers said that experts from 60 countries will take part in "highlight lectures" outlining space exploration and technical sessions that are part of the 60th IAC gathering.

The 60th International Astronautical Congress IAC2009 will take place in the Daejeon, Republic of Korea, from 12 to 16 October.
The Congress - which last year attracted around 3000 participants - will be attended by scientists, engineers, heads of space agencies, business leaders and students to debate the latest ideas, current activities and future ambitions across a diverse range of space-related topics.
