The NASA media briefing to preview the STS-128 space shuttle mission has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13.
NASA Television and the agency's Web site will provide live coverage of the mission briefings from NASA's Johnson Space Centre in Houston beginning at 8 a.m. CDT.

The orbiter Discovery is in the Kennedy Space Centre Vehicle Assembly Building today after a move Sunday from its nearby processing hangar.
Mounted atop a 76-wheel transporter, the spaceship was backed out of its hangar around 7:22 a.m. and rolled into the 52-story assembly building about an hour later.
Discovery is tentatively scheduled to launch Aug. 25 on an International Space Station outfitting mission. Its move into the assembly building was delayed so engineers could perform tests on its external tank.

NASA will hold a series of media briefings on Monday, Aug. 10, to preview the next space shuttle mission to the International Space Station. NASA Television and the agency's Web site will provide live coverage of the briefings from NASA's Johnson Space Centre in Houston. Questions also will be taken from other participating NASA locations.
Shuttle Discovery's 13-day flight, called STS-128, is targeted to launch Aug. 18. The flight will deliver 33,000 pounds of supplies and equipment to the station and a new crew member.

Media accreditation for Shuttle flight STS-128 with ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang
The media accreditation deadline for the next Space Shuttle flight to the International Space Station has been set by NASA. Discovery is tentatively slated for launch on 18 August to begin its mission, STS-128. The application deadline for credentials for international reporters is 31 July.
STS-128 will deliver nearly 15 000 kg of equipment, including: science and storage racks; a freezer to store research samples; and the Colbert treadmill.
