A UFO literally made the headlines when a flashing white light flew across the screen during a live TV broadcast.
The speeding projectile was captured as BBC Look North's Colin Briggs read the breakfast headlines in front of a screen showing live webcam footage of the River Tyne in central Newcastle yesterday.

The eerie glowing disc flashed across screens in 100,000 homes as presenter Colin Briggs read breakfast headlines on the BBCs reg­ional news show Look North.
The mystery object in the centre of Newcastle was picked up by a webcam which the programme uses as a live backdrop to the news.
