Andrews Space, Inc. (Andrews) announced today the completion of a new integration lab, mission control centre, and flat floor to support spacecraft integration and hardware in the loop testing.  The new facilities are part of a planned expansion at its Andrews Rapid Prototyping Lab, an 11,000 square foot facility located south of Seattle in Tukwilla, Washington.
The new lab features a 400 square foot flat floor and two five degree of freedom satellite simulators to conduct spacecraft hardware in the loop testing.  Andrews has completed hardware demonstrations with its satellite simulators for the United States Air Force and other customers.  The two satellite simulators feature state of the art control systems, including four control moment gyroscopes and cold gas attitude control systems.
