The name Hristo Botev has been proposed for the asteroid (225238) 2009 QJ5, which was discovered on the 23rd August, 2009, by the Zvezdno Obshtestvo Observatory (Bulgaria).
The name is after the Bulgarian poet and national revolutionary Hristo Botev (1848-1876). Botev is widely considered by Bulgarians to be a symbolic historical figure and national hero.
