School observatory shines again The stars aligned just right for Lincoln Park Middle School students when a 45-year-old abandoned observatory reopened this week on school grounds during the 400th anniversary of Galileo's use of a telescope. The project was initiated by community members impassioned about renovating the building and adding state-of-the-art technology rivalling any school statewide, including prestigious Cranbrook, Superintendent Randy Kite said.
