Cosmonaut Pavel Popovich who piloted the Vostok-4 spacecraft on 12-15th August, 1962, and commanded the Soyuz-14 mission on 3-19th July, 1974, has died in hospital in the Crimean city of Hurzuf, where he had been taken following a stroke. A Mars-crossing asteroid (8444 Popovich) and an Antarctic mountain range are named after the cosmonaut.
