Sri Lanka will witness a solar eclipse in over 50 years in 2010. This Annular Solar Eclipse will occur on 15th January and will be clearly visible over the Northern parts of Sri Lanka.
It will also be possible to view the eclipse from Chilaw and Trincomalee. Astronomers have predicted that the eclipse will take place between 1.20 and 1.30 p.m. and would create a grand spectacle.
