Observations of the recent earth flyby by researchers at the JPL Table Mountain observatory indicate that the asteroid is probably a contact binary.

Asteroid 2007 MK13 was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on the 21st June 2007.

The 290 - 650 metre wide asteroid 2007 MK13 will make a close pass (22.4 lunar distances, 0.0576 AU), travelling at 10.76 km/second, to the Earth-Moon system on the 24th December, 2009.
