Confirmed:
A magnitude 16.9 nova was discovered by K. Nishiyama and F. Kabashima, on the 22nd December, 2009, in the Andromeda galaxy.
The nova is located 34' west and 21' south from the center of  the galaxy.

Position (2000): RA  00 40 19.40, Dec +41° 15 47.6

A possible magnitude 16.6 nova was discovered on the 22nd December, 2009, in  M31 in the constellation Andromeda.
The nova is located 34' west and 21' south from the center of  the galaxy.
