December 1, 2010 began training to simulate abnormal situation for the crew of the project Mars-500 ", as well as for ground services, providing secuTb of the experiment. Emergency situation has resulted in a cascade failure of systems to provide live and work test under experimental conditions. This situation was a surprise for the crew. In reality it may incur as a space station on Mars bases, and on a spaceship in an interplanetary flight.

The Mars500 crew has more than 450 days to go and three times as many main meals to prepare. The food is almost the same all the time and they have to eat everything.

Launch of Mars500 mission on 3 June in Moscow

The first full-duration simulation of a human mission to Mars is about to begin. After closing the hatch, the crew of six will remain in their 'spacecraft' for 520 days. The media are invited to witness the 'launch' of this historic Mars500 mission.
