A space rock that hit a Northern Virginia office Monday evening may have produced the fiery meteor that Richmond-area residents saw.
But people reported seeing a fireball at times that varied by more than an hour.

Several meteors, including one described as a fireball, graced the region's skies Monday night.
Russ Baldwin, 57, of Henrico County was driving north on U.S. 1 just south of Ashland when a light shot across the sky, headed east, about 6:40 p.m.

Richmonders report seeing meteors

People in the Richmond area are reporting seeing meteors last night.
A bright light shooting across the sky was reported about 6:40 p.m., and a less-bright one was reported about 9:45 p.m.
