Jamie Stewart and his girlfriend Heather Revill drove up the road to Cairngorm and set off a five foot high love lantern after a romantic meal in a local restaurant. The lantern could be seen for miles around and one report of the UFO spotted by someone in Nairn appeared on a Canadian researcher's website. The Highland News has since received reports of similar sightings around the same time from Grantown to Fort Augustus. Read more
The mystery "orange fireball" spotted in the skies above Nairn sounds similar to other strange objects reported to the Highland News recently. And it comes as the Ministry of Defence last week released its full archive of reported UFO sightings - after being inundated with Freedom of Information requests. The latest sighting describes how the person was travelling home from Aberdeen approaching the eastern edge of Nairn on February 14 when he spotted an orange glowing light in the sky. Read more
