Tropical cyclone Tomas hits Fiji

A powerful cyclone has hit northern Fiji, flattening houses and villages, and forcing some 5,000 people to leave their homes.
People fled to some 200 evacuation centres as Cyclone Tomas with winds of up to 205 kilometres per hour ripped through Fiji's northern islands on Monday.
