Earth Hour was devised to bring attention to energy conservation. This in fact does make the public aware of energy waste but only lasts for one hour out of the year. If B.C. More than 100 Scottish landmarks and iconic structures will be plunged into darkness later as part of a global climate change campaign. Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament building and the Falkirk Wheel, usually lit up at night, are among the landmarks marking Earth Hour. Read more
Lights will go out around the world Saturday with hundreds of millions of people set to take part in the Earth Hour climate change campaign, which this year will also mark Japan's earthquake and tsunami.
