It's not the Hubble, but for Old DeKalb Road resident Stanley R. Hewlett, it's the next best thing.
For more than a decade, Mr. Hewlett has embraced his passion for astronomy, first peering through his telescope from a deck off the rear of his house. Now, the Russell native and amateur astronomer can gaze at the planets and stars from the cozy confines of his new makeshift observatory.
