Russia's Proton-M carrier rocket put three GLONASS satellites into orbit on Thursday, a spokesman for the Russian Space Forces said.
The Proton-M rocket blasted off from the Baikonur space centre in Kazakhstan at 4:53 Moscow time (0:53 GMT).

"The launch vehicle Proton-M, which was blasted off at 4.53 am Moscow time on Thursday from the Baikonur spaceport by the upper stage rocket DM within a period between 8.26 am and 9.12 am Moscow time put three satellites GLONASS-M on the designated orbit" - spokesman for the Space Troops Lieut. Col. Alexei Zolotukhin.

A Russian Proton-M carrier rocket with three Glonass-M navigation satellites is scheduled to be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, in Kazakhstan at 00:53 GMT, 2nd September, 2010.
