RISAT-1, India's Indigenous Radar Imaging Satellite to be Launched on 20 April
An indigenously conceived and developed radar imaging satellite RISAT-1 will be launched by ISRO on 20 April. The Radar Imaging Satellite is designed to create imaging 24 hours a days, not withstanding any inclement weather conditions. RISAT-1 has with it, a C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar payload, which can operate in modes of multi-polarisation and multi-resolution, which can provide images with coarse, fine and high spatial resolutions.
