The launch is scheduled for Tuesday between 8:28-11:28 p.m., with the launch window extending to July 10.

NASA Launching Department of Defence Rocket and Satellite From Virginia June 28

A U.S. Air Force Minotaur 1 rocket carrying the Department of Defence's Operationally Responsive Space office's ORS-1 satellite is scheduled for launch June 28 from NASA's Launch Range at the Wallops Flight Facility and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport in Virginia.
Based on the approved range schedule, the rocket is set for launch between 8:28 and 11:28 p.m. EDT.  The backup launch days are June 29 - July 10 . The launch may be visible, depending on cloud cover and one's viewing location, in the eastern United States from southern New York to North Carolina.  It may be seen as far west from the Atlantic Coast as West Virginia and western Pennsylvania.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport is preparing for another Minotaur rocket launch down on Wallops Island, Va., the fourth since 2006.
The 70-foot rocket will carry an ORS-1 satellite for the Pentagon. It's designed to provide "multi-spectral" imaging for combatants on the ground.

Goodrich Hits Air Force ORS-1 Recon Satellite Milestone

Goodrich Corporation has successfully integrated its electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) sensor payload with the Air Force's ORS-1 reconnaissance satellite, making the quick-launch satellite looking good for delivery by the end of the year for launch. Launch for ORS-1 is scheduled to be done from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility using an Orbital Science's four stage Minotaur 1 launch vehicle.
