The December Phoenicids (PHO) are a minor periodic shower that occurs on the 6th December. The Phoenicids are active from 29 November to 9 December, and normally produce few and very slow meteors, however a ZHR of near 100 was recorded in 1956. The radiant lies in central Phoenix, about ten degrees southeast of the star Alpha Phoenicis (Ankaa), and is currently located at 00:50, -52. This shower is mostly not visible from the northern hemisphere.
