A Magnitude 14.8 supernova 2005dv, was discovered on 4th of September by the Cortina Astronomical Association (CROSS), in the galaxy NGC 5283 .
It is located 8" west of the centre of the galaxy.

The Type as yet is unknown.


Position(2000): R.A. = 13h41m04s.45, Dec. = +67°40'20".3


NGC 5283 is a magnitude 13.3, S0 Seyfert Type galaxy, which lies 38.2 million light years away in the constellation Draco.
