CU vying for solar observatory

University of Colorado scientists are working to get Boulder and CU their day in the sun.
CU is one of seven academic institutions vying to become home of the National Solar Observatory, which could bring more than 60 scientists and administrators to Boulder and pump money into the local high-tech industry.
The project is intended to be one of the premier solar research institutions in the U.S. and would add another entry into Boulder's long list of research institutions that receive federal support.
