Plan to revive 1970s UK satellite

A group of scientists and engineers is working on an ambitious project to revive a unique UK satellite - still in orbit after almost 40 years.
When the Prospero spacecraft was launched atop a Black Arrow rocket on 28 October 1971, it marked the end of an era. A very short era.
Prospero was the first UK satellite to be launched on a UK launch vehicle; it would also be the last.

The Prospero satellite, also known as X-3, is the only satellite to be successfully launched by a British rocket on the 28th October, 1971. It has the COSPAR (NSSC ID) designation 1971-093A, and the US Space Command satellite catalogue number 05580. The satellite was originally to be called Puck, but was renamed Prospero when it was announced that it would be the last launch attempt using a British rocket.
