International Dark Sky Week 14 - 20 April, 2012

Created in 2003 by high-school student Jennifer Barlow, IDSW has grown to become a worldwide event and a key component of Global Astronomy Month. The goals of IDSW are to appreciate the beauty of the night sky and to raise awareness of how poor-quality lighting creates light pollution.

International Dark Sky Week
April 1- 8, 2011

Founded in 2003 by then high school student Jennifer Barlow, National Dark Sky Week has been endorsed by the International Dark-Sky Association, the American Astronomical Association, Sky & Telescope Magazine, Astronomers Without Borders, and the UNESCO IYA 2009 Dark Skies Awareness Cornerstone Project. IDSW is a great way to host neighbourhood celebrations and introduce the idea of dark skies to your community
