Look at the sun Monday through special telescopes, filters
We've always heard: "Don't look directly at the sun." But now, someone is offering an unusual chance to - safely - do just that. About 300 solar astronomers who are coming to Las Cruces next week from around the world will host an opportunity Monday to observe the sun through special telescopes and filters. Students, teachers and community members are invited, according to New Mexico State University. And, in solar study, things are sizzling at the moment on the sun's surface. Read more
