JODRELL BANK LIVE - Transmission 001



Jodrell Bank Live is where music meets science under the shadow of the Lovell Telescope, the third largest steerable radio telescope in the world.
On July 2nd 2011 Transmission 001 launched the first of many events at the Scientific site.
A day of talks and exploration of pulsars via the satellite was followed by cosmic satge shows by THE FLAMING LIPS, BRITISH SEA POWER & OKGO. Culminating in transforming the 270ft wide telescope into a projection screen featuring choreographed imagery of space

Live From Jodrell Bank Transmission 001 - The birth of a truly out of this world festival experience.
For over fifty years, Jodrell Bank's Lovell Telescope has dominated the Cheshire plains. Today, the observatory has opened its doors to over 5000 music fans by hosting a concert headlined by The Flaming Lips and a number of supporting artists.

Jodrell Bank's first festival will see music lovers learn about the depths of space and the stars.
The Flaming Lips, British Sea Power, OK Go, Alice Gold and Wave Machines are performing at the sold-out Live From Jodrell Bank on Saturday, July 2, taking place with the backdrop of the Lovell Telescope.
