And in 1867, when Reichenbach had to sell the Menow meteorite because of business losses, he did not even approach the Vienna museum, but offered it to curators of the Berlin, Paris, and London collections.

The age spectrum obtained in Ar-Ar dating of the Menow meteorite is more complicated and shows the effects of ancient argon loss. Different ages are obtained during incremental heating below about 1200 °C (Fig. 4.9). The plateau ages above this temperature indicate a mean age of 4.48 ± 0.06 Ga

The Menow (H4) meteorite fell in Brandenburg, Germany, on the 7th October, 1862.
A total mass of 10.5 kg was recovered.

53° 11'N, 13° 9'E
