An asteroid discovered on the 31st October, 2011, by the LINEAR survey telescope, and catalogued as 2011 UF305, revealed a cometary nature with follow-up observations. The object was also identified on archival images taken by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope on the 25th July, 2011. The orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 22nd July, 2012, at a distance of 2.13 AU from the Sun.
