Graham et a!. (1985) suggested that Gurram Konda may be a fragment of the lost Punganaru meteorite, which fell 1811 Nov. 23 in the same region.

The Punganaru (Stone) meteorite fell in Andhra Pradesh, India, on the 23rd November, 1811.
A total mass of 100 g was recovered.
