A beautiful meteor streaked across the central Virginia sky Friday night. Reports varied, but most people said they saw the light for a few seconds between 10 and 10:30 p.m.
Initial reports indicate that people saw the light from Richmond to the Blue Ridge Mountains to Washington.

More than 100 people from New Jersey to North Carolina reported seeing a bright streak of light with a tail shooting through the night sky late Friday.
Witnesses reported seeing the fireball between 10 and 10:30 p.m. All described it as very bright and very low.
