Russia on Sunday launched a Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with five satellites on board, the country's space agency Roscosmos said. Roscosmos' live webcast showed the Soyuz-FG rocket took off at 10:41 a.m. Moscow time (0641 GMT) from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan.

Launch of Soyuz-FG With Kanopus-V1 & BelKA-2 Payloads

A Russian Soyuz-FG rocket launched today, July 22nd 2012 at 06:41 UTC from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The rocket carried the Kanopus-V1 & BelKA-2 satellites into orbit as well as the smaller TET-1, Exact View 1 and MKA-PN1 payloads.

Russia's Soyuz-FG Rocket with Five Satellites Set for Launch

Russia's Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with a group of five satellites on board will blast off from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan early on Sunday, a spokesman for the Russian space agency Roscosmos said.
"The launch of the Soyuz-FG rocket is scheduled for 10:41 am Moscow time (06:41 GMT)," the spokesman said.

 Kazakhstan Against Running of Belarusian Space Satellite

Kazakhstan does not permit the fall of the first stage of "Soyuz" mother missile in its territory. Thus, three missiles may not fly into space. These missiles have to launch six satellites, including four from Belarus, Canada, Germany and the European Union each. Belarusian spacecraft (BelKA) was to have been launched in June.

The Kanopus V (Russia) and BelKA-2 (Belorussia) satellites is scheduled for April 2011 from Plesetsk booster site. The satellites will be launched together by the Rokot booster into the circular sun-synchronous orbit with the altitude of 510 - 540 km. The space vehicles are identical by their characteristics . The satellites operating time will be 5 - 7 years. The satellites will be able to receive high quality black-and-white and polyzonal images with the spatial resolution of 2.1 m and 10.5 m in nadir accordingly.
