The Curiosity rover lands on Mars this weekend, via one of the most terrifying and technologically incredible means NASA has ever attempted, the Andromeda Galaxy apparently has a dual core (or sorts), a couple of multiple planetary systems have been found recently, and now there's one with NINE planets (one more than our own if you don't count Pluto any more), and Comet Machholz appears to have spawned a couple of offspring.
This week's top astronomy stories: Pluto has five moons, Titan has an amazing vortex cloud, dark matter is detected for the first time in an image and the Higgs-Boson (or something really, really close to it) is discovered at CERN with the Large Hadron Collider.
