The programme claimed to lay bare all the fallacies that have created the "great myth" that is man-made global warming. However, the programme itself was riddled with holes. We mention a few of these issues below, and provide links to other websites that have done a good job of outlining the programme's flaws.
As New Scientist's editor, Jeremy Webb, put it: previously climate sceptics were seen to deconstruct the arguments of climate change scientists. What was different about last week's documentary was that it constructed a complete argument to explain why our planet's climate is changing - in essence, variations in solar activity.

Based on three years of observations from the SCIAMACHY instrument aboard ESA’s Envisat, scientists have produced the first movies showing the global distribution of the most important greenhouse gases – carbon dioxide and methane – that contribute to global warming.
The importance of cutting emissions from these ‘anthropogenic’, or manmade, gases has been highlighted recently with European Union leaders endorsing binding targets to cut greenhouse gases by at least 20 percent from 1990 levels by 2020. Further illustrating the urgency to combat global warming, Britain became the first country last week to propose legislation for cutting the gases.

This winter was the warmest on record worldwide.
A new report has come just over a month after the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said global warming is very likely caused by human actions and is so severe it will continue for centuries.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the combined land and ocean temperatures for December through February were 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit above average for the period since record keeping began in 1880.
The report said that during the past century, global temperatures have increased at about 0.11 degrees per decade. But that increase has been three times larger since 1976, NOAA's National Climatic Data Centre reported.
Most scientists attribute the rising temperatures to so-called greenhouse gases which are produced by industrial activities, automobiles and other processes. These gases build up in the atmosphere and trap heat from the sun somewhat like a greenhouse.

The UK government is set to achieve only a third to a half of its overall policy target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2020.

Each of the four most important sectors: Energy Supply, Business, Transport and Domestic have been reviewed.
