It is an ordinary chondrite that belongs to the petrologic type 4, thus was assigned to the group H4.

The Akbarpur (H4) meteorite fell in Uttar Pradesh, India, on the 18th April, 1838.
A total mass of 1800 g was recovered.

29° 43'N, 77° 57'E
