Environmentalists petition against Brownsville launch site

An Austin-based environmental group has launched an online petition drive to stop SpaceX from building a launch pad near Brownsville.
Environment Texas says the rocket launch would endanger the wildlife in the Boca Chica beach area, which is the site SpaceX, or Space Exploration Technologies, is considering in Texas.

Brownsville/rural Cameron County is one of three sites being considered by SpaceX, or Space Exploration Technologies, for the construction of a launch site. The other sites under consideration are in Florida and Puerto Rico.
