  Indias first student rocket successful

Bad weather forced the launch schedule to be tweaked a little bit, but India's first 'student rocket' successfully took to the leaden skies from Thumba late Friday evening. And if things work out, Thumba would witness a student rocket launch every year.
Built by BTech students of ISRO's Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) at Valiyamala, the 'Vyom' sounding rocket lifted off at 7.25 p.m., 55 minutes late.
