The Marjalahti meteorite fell at 10:00 p.m, 1st June, 1902, in Viipuri, Karelia, Russia (the area was then part of Finland).
This pallasite hit a granite outcrop by lake Ladogag and produced a large dust cloud, with fragments spread over 50 metres, with some falling into the lake. The event was witnessed by J. Koppinen. The impact pulverised the meteorite olivine crystals.
The main mass of the meteorite is in the Geological Museum of the University of Helsinki.

A another story tells, Jaakko pulled the blanket over his ears on the bed, because the noise was very loud and the whole house shook when the meteorite fell, and his son Antti (my Great-Grandfather) saw the meteorite falls when he returned from his date after ten o´clock in the evening. Anyway, Meteorite's weight was 45 kg and it was a pallasite meteor, which is half iron and half stone. Marjalahti is also one of only 4 witnessed pallasite falls in the World.
