Eyes on the Sky: Sept 17 thru Sept 23

Credit eyesontheskyDOTcom

The Lunar "X" is a feature that can only be seen for a few hours near First Quarter phase; learn how to see it in a small telescope or binoculars this week. The planet Uranus is fairly bright at magnitude 5.8, though dim enough to require a telescope, but it zips by a nearly-equal brightness star this coming weekend.
