The Planetary Society Finalises August 4-5 Schedule for Planetfest 2012

Join Bill Nye the Science Guy(R), CEO of The Planetary Society, Star Trek's Robert Picardo, Mars experts, NASA officials, authors, science fiction writers, film producers, and many others for a celebration of NASA's rover Curiosity landing on Mars! Special exhibits include the SpaceX Dragon Crew Transportation Vehicle model, XCOR Lynx Suborbital space ship (take your photo in the ****pit with Bill Nye), a real Mars meteorite, family activities, space arts festival, and special tributes to Sally Ride and Ray Bradbury, and much more.

Planetary Society to celebrate Mars rover landing with two-day event in Pasadena

The Planetary Society is inviting the public to join in celebrating the landing of NASA's next Mars rover at Planetfest 2012 in the Pasadena Convention Centre in August.
NASA's Curiosity rover, its biggest rover yet, is scheduled to touch down on the red planet on Aug. 5. The project is being overseen by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge.
