Liftoff of Ariane VA209


On 28 September 2012 an Ariane 5 launcher lifted off from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana on its mission to place two telecommunications satellites, Astra-2F and GSAT-10, into their planned geostationary transfer orbits. Liftoff of flight VA209, the 65th Ariane 5 mission, came at 21:18 GMT (23:18 CEST; 18:18 French Guiana). The satellites were accurately injected into their transfer orbits about 27 minutes and 30 minutes after liftoff, respectively.

European rocket to launch on Sept 22

India's latest communication satellite GSAT-10 and the Astra 2F satellite are slated to be launched from Kourou in French Guiana on September 22.
The satellites will be launched by European space consortium Arianespace's Ariane-5 rocket.
