Comet C/2012 U2 (PANSTARRS) was discovered by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope on the 20th October, 2012.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage was on the 27th August, 2012 at a distance of approximately 3.4 AU from the Sun, and an orbital period of 21.9 years.
