Korean Satellite Communicates from Orbit

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Thursday said the Naro satellite flew over Korean air space and succeeded in communicating with the satellite research centre at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology between 3:28 a.m. and 3:42 a.m.

South Korea satellite 'communicating'

South Korea says the satellite launched on Wednesday has made contact with a ground station and is sending data.
The satellite, which collects climate data, made contact at 03:27 on Thursday (18:27 GMT on Wednesday).

South Korea launches space rocket carrying satellite

South Korea says its third attempt at launching a rocket to put a satellite in space has been a success.
The Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1) blasted off from the Naro Space Centre at 16:00 (07:00 GMT).

Seoul to set definite date for launch of Naro space rocket

South Korea will this week set a more definite date for the liftoff of its Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1), the government said Wednesday.
The country's Launch Preparation Committee earlier set Jan. 30-Feb. 8 as possible dates for what will be its third launch of KSLV-1, also known as Naro.
