MPEC 2012 - V40 Comet C/2012 V1 (PANSTARRS) was discovered on the 3rd November 2012 by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope. The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 21st July, 2013, at at distance of 2 au from the Sun
